His wife was Janet Aitchison, who he married on 30 NOV 1805 in Paisley. Their eleven known children were John (1806-1878), Ann (Annie (1807-1901), Agnes (1809-?), Jane (1810-?), Jane (1811-1885), Hele (1816-1880), Mar (?-?), Jean(Jane (1818-1886), Rober (1821-1896), Marion (c1824-1916) and Isabell (1825-1905).
