Oreste Santini and his wife, Celide (ms Gualtierotti) were married in Pistoia, Tuscany in 1910. Their son, Ario was born in West Calder on 19 November 1911 – this dating their arrival in Scotland.
In the 1933 Censimento, Oreste is listed as being a Shopkeeper at 91 Main Street.
Oreste died in 1940, aged 58. It is not known what became of the business.
His son, Ario became an art teacher and an active member of the Educational Institute of Scotland.

Is it possible that the shop to the left of the car is the Santini shop?
Another Santini, Giuseppe Santini is listed in the Censimento at 38 East End, West Calder. No other known details.
