David was born about 1848 in Midlothian, the son of David McCreath and Agnes Haig.
He died in JUN 1932 in Base Hospital, Ballarat.
His wife was Jane Gibson, who he married on 20 MAY 1867 in Edinburgh. Their thirteen known children were James (1868-1875), David (1871-?), Clarissa (1873-?), Agnes Haig (1876-?), Andrew James (1878-1912), Joseph (Jos) (c1880-1910), Alexander (1880-1915), Marion (May?) (1885-?), Jane (1885-1885), Elsie (1889-1972), John (1891-1891), Harold (1891-1891) and William John (c1892-1968).
