The Linthouse Cafe, Govan

From Virtual Mitchell Collection

In the ‘Centissimo’, an I. Marletta is listed at 1203 Govan Road.

In the late 1930s, George Rountree recalls the business being owned by the Innocenti family,

“The Linthouse Café  at 1203 Govan Road  was owned by the Innocenti family, a son of which, Sergio, was in my class at St Constantine’s Primary, and is one of the faces seen in the 1937 school class photo 60 & 61 in AGC. It was the nearest café to us, and selling ice cream of remarkably high standard. It was the one we patronised most”. (http://www.govanhistory.org.uk/ipaw_chapter_four_50.html)
