Port William Creamery was opened in 1912. It made cheese.

In 1933 it was taken over by the SMMB and had roller driers installed around 1939.

Block cheese making was transferred from Sandhead to Port William in the late 1960s with Neil McLean, who with his father, Walter, had pioneered its production.

In 1971 the Creamery was sold to the Dourie Farm Company, established by Henry Christie in the mid 1950s.

The building lies unoccupied in 2020.
