Parkhead Forge, on which Beardmore Park is now situated, had as many asseven steam powered hammers in operation in its prime –  violently shaping hot metal for large scale military, industrial, and transport applications.

.

A steam hammer has been restored and positioned at the Eastern edge of the park

and this magnificent industrial artefact now serves as a focal point to the park and

surrounding roadways.

The iconic steam hammer, with featured lighting and interpretation board, is also a

direct link for members of the community or visitors interested in the industrial past.
