Location: Benny Lynch Court, off Old Rutherglen Road.
Description: Four large relief panels fitted onto new houses within a quiet courtyard off Old Rutherglen Road. They are made of glass reinforced plastic – though giving the appeaarnce of polished bronze. The panels all show the cones of trees; being strong symbols of growth and regeneration.
The four species are Douglas Fir, Scots Pine, larch and Sequoia.
(Born in the Gorbals, Benjamin “Benny” Lynch (1913 – 1946) was a Scottish professional flyweightboxer . Considered by some to be one of the finest boxers in his era, he has been described as the greatest fighter Scotland ever produced.)
