Sculptor: Stephen Skrynka

Date: 1995

Location: Opposite 44 Barlanark Road

Description: Part of Glasgow’s response to its designation in 1990 as European City of Culture, this piece is located in the landscaped area opposite 44 Barlanark Road.

The shape is reminiscent of a pot-still; the connection being with the whisky-making practices associated with Calvay on South Uist – where this part of Barlanark derives its name.
