Description: Gerald Laing created a work known as Callanish for Strathclyde University’s. He used 16 abstract steel girders planted in the ground – intended to mimic the configuration of the real Callanish stones which are situated near the village of Callanish (Gaelic: Calanais) on the west coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides (Western Isles of Scotland).

The sculpture is popularly referred to as “Steelhenge”
