In 1969 Peter Tamburrini and his wife Amalia (ms Capocci) came to Dumfries to take over ownership of the Palmerston Café.
Prior to this they had been involved in ice cream, old style cafes and fish and chip shops in Lanarkshire.
They built the business up through many years of hard work, sacrifice and all the support they had from their customers through the years.
Today the Palmerston Cafe is going strong with their son Paul Tamburrini and his family still keeping up the tradition of great fish and chips and Italian ice cream.
