Newhall Parish Church was built for the Church of Scotland in 1874-75. It wa built on a narrow site (45 x 153 feet) with buildings close against it on each side. Robert Baldie, the architect, designed the frontage in German Gothic style with a massive central tower and stone broach spire 124 feet in height. 

Sharing the fate of so many city churches, Newhall was declared redundant redundant, and after being vandalised was demolished in 1970.

Newhall was home to the 92nd Coy. Boys’ Brigade
