For a number of reasons, only three of us were able to make this year’s walk – myself, daughter, Catriona and son, Euan.
Once again, I was given the honour of laying a wreath in memory of the men of the 52nd Lowland Division, beside which I also placed a commemorative Cameronian Cross made by Alex Maxwell of the Family and Friends Association.
By a curious coincidence the limited size of our party worked to our advantage. Repairs to Rob van der Klooster’s Dodge truck had taken longer than anticipated. Generously, Andre Brasser allowed Rob to take us in the convoy to Vlissingen in his jeep for its Service of Remembrance
