Michael Pagliari’s Great Uncle, Pietro Antonio Pagliari (1891-1962) owned the Trieste Fish Restaurant at 383 Rutherglen Road, Glasgow (long demolished).
Pietro (Peter) married Patricia Maxwell on 9 February 1931. Patricia had changed her name by deed poll from Patricia Baltousha. Peter (Pietro) was 39. Patricia was 24.
The photograph of the Trieste Restaurant appears to have been taken before the couple married. A poster in the left hand window is advertising the Metro Pictures distributed film ‘The Eternal Struggle’ – a silent movie drama made in 1923. It is not known which year the film arrived in Glasgow.
Peter and Patricia had a son, Michelangelo Pagliari, born 1940. He did not join the family business.
