William Mason was born in 1890 in New Cumnock, Ayrshire.
William emigrated to Canada. A Telephone Engineer, single, he was resident in Calgary in 1916 when he enlisted in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force.
He married Lilian Amy Bickell in Canada in 1922 when he was 32 years old.
William and Lilian had a son, Robert George Dingle Mason born 27 August 1925, Lethbridge, Alberta.
William Mason died on 30 November 1957 in Canada when he was 67 years old.
Robert died on 29 March 2009, age 83.
