Jane (Jean) Agnew McLean was born in Plantation, Glasgow on 14 May 1921

Jean married Robert (Bob) Alfred Johns on 19 May 1941 at The Old Parish Church, Stranraer.  At the time, he was a Corporal in the Royal Air Force, stationed at West Freugh.

An accomplished musician, he became a primary school teacher in Scunthorpe.  Jean and Bob had a son, Alexander (Alec) Walter Johns, who also entered the teaching profession – as a secondary language specialist.

Alec married Rebecca (Becky) Rimington. They have three children:

Hannah Johns

Robert Alfred Johns

Eleanor Johns

Alec and Becky live in Barkstone, Nottinghamshire.
