Jessie McCreath was born in 1868 at Girvan.
She (age 28) married James Clachan (41) in Girvan on 24 July 1896. He was a farmer, at Chapeldonan, North of Girvan. Jessie died (age 82) on 4 September 1949 at Chapeldonan. She was pre-deceased by James (age 85) on 19 August 1940.
They had three children:
(i) James Clachan born 27 April 1898 at Chapeldonan, Girvan. James was a farmer at Burnside, Girvan. He was married to (i) Grace Brown and (ii) Minnie Ritchie Dickie. He died at Ballochmyle Hospital, Mauchline on 4 February 1965
(ii) William McCreath Clachan born on 5 February 1900, at Chapeldonan. William Clachan took over Chapeldonan from his father. He married Mary Scott in 1932 in Girvan. William and Mary had a son, William McCreath Scot Clachan born 1945.
(iii) Martha Taylor Clachan born on 23 January 1904 at Chapeldonan, Girvan. Martha married John Bannatyne (born c. 1907)
