Hugh McCreath was born on 4 March 1869 at Girvan.
On the birth certificate of his daughter, Martha, Hugh is listed as an ‘Indian Merchant’. On his death certificate he is listed as a Builders’ Merchant.
He married Jane (Jeanie) Taylor on 9 November 1900 at Blythswood, Glasgow.
Hugh died on 19th April 1953, aged 84, at 41 Manse Road, Bearsden. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Jane.
They had two children:
(i) Martha McCreath born on 26 January 1902 at 9 Crown Circus, Dowanhill, Glagow
(ii) Hugh McCreath born on 8 March 1903 at Downanhill, Glasgow.
Hugh married Doreen Agnes Maxwell in London on 17 January 1931. They had a son, Hugh Maxwell McCreath born in Glasgow on 22 July 1937.
Hugh Maxwell McCreath married Sally Ann Kinnell on 17 October 1963. Hugh and Sally had a son Alexander Hugh McCreath born 14 July 1964 in Helensburgh.
Alexander Hugh McCreath married Frances Margaret Beck in 1993 at Eastwood Glasgow
