Jessie Muir McCreath was born on 19 April 1846 at Kirkmichael, Ayrshire.
She married Dr Alexander Fergusson, a General Practioner.
They had two children:
Elizabeth Jane Fergusson born 25 March 1865 at Kirkmichael.
William Fergusson born 17 February 1867 at Girvan. Died 2 March 1867, Girvan
Jessie died of Consumption at Bloomfield Cottage, Girvan on 15 June 1867, at the age of 21. Her husband, Alexander went on to have a family by his second wife, Hannah Haddson (1841-1908).
Alexander and Jessie’s daughter, Elizabeth (1865-1916), was brought up by her father and his new wife, Hannah, in Peebles with her four step-siblings: and by her step-mother on her father’s passing. Family in 1891 at Tweed Brae House, Peebles:

According to the Headstone in Peebles St Andrew’s Cemetery there was another daughter, Marion Craig Fergusson (1872-1886) died before the 1891 Census. Also a daughter Annie Fergusson (1878-1907) Their son, William James Fergusson died in 1901.
