Thomas McCreath  married Elizabeth (Eliza) Dunlop on 19 July 1882 at Kirkmichael.

Thomas was a farmer at Challoch, in the Parish of Penninghame, Wigtownshire. He died (age 84) at Challoch in 1939.  He was predeceased by Eliza. His son, Robert, was the informant.  His residence was given as Arbrack, Whithorn.

At the time of Robert’s birth the family was resident at Victoria Street, Newton Stewart, Thomas was an Ironmonger. At the time of birth of the youngest child, Agnes, Thomas is described as a Farmer and Ironmonger

It appears that Thomas began life as an Ironmonger and later became involved in agriculture; initially at The Skaith (a Dairy Farm) and latterly at Challoch.
