Agnes McCreath was born on 23 October 1833 at St Quivox , Ayr.
Agnes married John Rodger on 14 December 1855 at Maybole.
Agnes’ parents, James McCreath (then 78) and Isabella Dinnan (then 50) were living with her family in 1861. By this time Agnes and John had three children.
At the birth of their first child, Isabella, John Rodger was a Night Policeman; at their son James’ birth he was a Sheriff’s Officer.
They had four children in total:

Agnes, the mother, died age 32, on 2 March 1866 at Kirkport, Ayr.
James, age 44, married Margaret Finlay Campbell, age 25, on 3 February 1871 at Kirkoswald. Their six children were:

John Rodger 1878 born about 1879, Prestwick, Ayrshire
Agnes McCreath Rodger born 18 October 1881, Prestwick, Ayrshire. Married William James Hay, Master Grocer. Agnes died, age 75, on 31 October 1957.
David Rodger born 7 July 1885, Prestwick, Ayrshire. Married Margaret Neilson in Canada.
Mary Rodger born about 1888, Newton on Ayr
Margaret, John’s second wife, died on 10 July 1897. John passed away some four years later on 13 May 1901.
