Charles Edward McCreath was born on 26 August 1879 at Invercargill, NZ. He was a Carter. In 1917 he was on the WW1 New Zealand Army Reserve List (2nd Division).
He married Ellen (Nellie) Begley in 1906. Prior to his marriage he was living with his sister, Ella Barbara McCreath (then unmarried ) at their deceased parents’ house in Yarrow Street, Invercargill.
