
In 2018 a marble plaque carving was installed and dedicated in the Cathedral as an act of reconciliation and unity.
It features a winged dove of peace encircled by the words:
“he crossed in ships the whale’s shrine… a bold man over sea’s ridge”
The dove is the universal symbol of love, hope and peace, as well as that of, St Columba.
