The Isle of Man was a magnet for Glasgow Fair holiday makers throughout the 1960s. It was easily accessible through a direct boat trip from the Broomielaw to Douglas. The McLean/ Robertson/Beckett family on the beach at Douglas was fairly typical – the company comprised the three Robertson sisters, their spouses, children and grand-children.
