According to the 1851,1861 and 1871 Censuses , the family was resident at Drumpark Farm, Old Monkland Parish Lanarkshire. In 1851, William is listed as a Mining Engineer/ Farmer of 50 acres. Interestingly, a John Meikle (age 16), an errand boy is identified as a ‘cousin’s son’. William McCreath, Snr. died , age 80, on 5 December 1876 at Levern House, 1 Fife Crescent, Bothwell. His son George was the informant – residence Rosebank, Bothwell. His spouse, Margaret, died in June 1884, also at Levern House.
