Cameronian Sunday Annual Commemorative Service
Despite the passing of time, ‘ex-Cams’ and relatives still gather in May each year in Douglas at the spot where the regiment was founded to hold their annual conventicle.
Sadly, it is recognised that each passing year thins out the ranks as old riflemen pass to the big conventicle in the sky. Nonetheless, those left gather each year – medals gleaming and Douglas tartan trews and glengarry ribbons ironed as sharp as they were during the years of service – at a ceremony linked to the regiment’s covenanting past. –
