Michele Cocozza moved to Rutherglen in the early 1950s where he started the Cross Cafe at 343 Main Street. His grandfather bought the premises for him. Michele grew the successful business.
The chip shop has gone down in Rutherglen folklore.
Thousands of Ruglonians have used it, enjoying the food, atmosphere and the juke box that kept them entertained.
Today 343 Main street is occupied by ‘Eatitalia’
