Robert McCreath married Margaret Jane Swinton at Walmer Crescent, Govan, Glasgow. on 2 March 1876. They emigrated from Glasgow to Brisbane aboard the Roxburghshire some three months later.
Their daughter – Charlotte McCreath – who was born on 5 January 1871, at Calton, Glasgow, before Robert and Maggie’s marriage, accompanied them.
