The Death of Michele Falchetta

It was with great sadness that I learned today of the passing of a valued friend, Michele Falchetta. His death was announced on 27 February 2018

Michele was a founding partner in 1993 of Nice Spa, now a successful  and well-known businesses that produces control mechanisms for the home. His departure was announced in a press release from the company which stated “To him we owe some of the most beautiful pages of our growth.  He was the driving force for the formation of the first commercial structure of the company and its international development. His vision, which was well combined with that of the other founding members, has helped make Nice Spa one of the leading international companies in the sector”.

In 2000, Michele decided to undertake a new independent path, while maintaining a relationship with the Treviso brand. “Michele was a friend and a very important partner for me. He was fundamental to the company’s birth”, commented Lauro Buoro, current president of Nice Spa.

Oscar Marchetto, a friend and partner of Falchetta at Nice, was also very moved .”Michele played a very important role in my professional growth. He was   a friend and mentor to me as well as a partner. I saw him as an elder brother, a guide to follow and to be inspired by”.

Nice Spa colleagues remember him with affection and offered his family their deepest sympathy for the sudden and unexpected loss.

Generous to a fault, his sense of humour, disdain of authority and full-on involvement  with the world – wherever he found himself – made Michele an extraordinarly engaging companion. My only regret is that time cheated us of the the opportunity to spend more time together and denied me the opportunity reciprocate in Glasgow the hospitality showered upon my family in Venezia and Vittorio Veneto.

Originally from Mestre, Michele leaves his wife Flavia and two sons – Nicola and Stefano. They are constantly in our thoughts at this sad time.
