Annie McCreath (1847-1931) married William Stevenson (c.1825-1910) on 3 August 1874.
William , a,widower, was a Quarry Master. He had a family of five with his first wife, Jane Brownlie. At the time of his second marriage William (age 47) was resident at 13 Moray Place, Stratbungo, Glasgow. Annie was 26. One of the witnesses to the marriage was Annie’s brother, James. The significance of this is that, though yet to be confirmed, James McCreath and William Stevenson were business partners (Messrs McCreath and Stevenson)
In the 1881 Census the family was resident at Househill Lodge.
William was listed as a Quarry Master and Farmer. The quarry engaged 530 men and 20 boys; the farm of 280 arable acres employed 10 men.

The 1891 Census also lists two daughters; Margaret age 8, and Elizabeth age 6. A grand-daughter, May Bowman Stevenson is also listed
At this time , the family is resident at Househill House – with a Nursery Governess, a Housemaid. a Nurse and a Cook.
In 1901 the family are listed as living at Hawkhead House. In 1886 William Stevenson purchased Hawkhead Estate. The estate included the mansion and three farms to the south.
James,the son, is listed as Quarry Master – presumably having taken over the operational management of the enterprise from his father. By this time, George Stevenson had graduated as a Mechanical Engineer. John was a Shipping Clerk, and Thomas a Chartered Accountant’s Clerk.
William died, age 82, on 24 March 1910 at Hawkhead House. Annie died, age 83, on 5 February 1931 at 9 High Road Paisley.
