Elizabeth Elisa Shaw married James Johnstone (1884-1931). They lived in Bellingham, Whatcom Co., Washington and had one known son, James Johnstone (1924-1996).

James, the father, died in 1931. Elizabeth died on 8 November 1941.

Elizabeth’s obituary provides a host of biographical details:

Johnstone – Elizabeth Shaw Johnstone, aged 54 years, passed away at her home, 3007 Victor Street, Saturday, November 8, following a long illness. Mrs. Johnstone has resided here for the past twenty-three years and was a member of the Presbyterian Church and of the Order of the Eastern Star at Cle Elum, Wash., and a past president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Moose of this city. Surviving relatives are one son, James at home; four brothers, William C., James and Samuel Shaw at Roslyn, Wash., and John F. W. Shaw in Scotland; three sisters, Mrs. James Clark at Glasgow, Scotland, and Mrs. Hugh Hamilton at Milner, B.C. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. Samuel H. Smith, Tuesday, November 11 at 1:30 p.m. Final resting place, Bay View Abbey.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Johnstone, who passed away Saturday at her home, 3007 Victor street, will be held at the Harlow-Hollingsworth parlors Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock. Final resting place will be Bay View Abbey. Casket bearers will be J. H. Pascoe, Wallace Bentley, Dr. E. W. Stimpson, Wilmot Berg, Arthur Thompson and John Cronich.
