Robert McCreath is not on The Old Tree but, according to Keith Percy, is very likely to be the ‘flesher’ in Ayr who married Mary Montgomerie. Unfortunately no record has been found of his christening. Keith’s claim is substantiated through his habitual meticulous uncovering of convincing circumstantial evidence, documented in his account of ‘The McCreaths from Pinmore’ (2004)
Robert and Mary had at least five children, four of whom are recorded in the Ayr Parish Register in the period 1784-1793.
