Marion McCreath married Luke Tait at Tradeston on 17 April 1860. Luke was a Foreman Tailor on marriage. Later he is described both as a Cutter Tailor and a Clothing Master. Luke was born in Wooler, Northumberland.
Marion and Luke had nine children. The family moved to Northern Ireland where their fourth child, Alfred was born. Four of the children died young.

Charlotte Phyllis Tait born 21 September 1863, Union St., Stirling. Died, age 14 in 1877.
Louisa Margaret Alexandra Tait born 10 March 1865, Spittal St., Stirling.
Amelia Isabella Tait was born on 22 November 1866, Stirling. Married John Maitland.
Alfred James Lancelot Tait born 28 April 1869, Lurgan, Armagh.
Albert George Tait born 21 June 1870, Portadown, Armagh
Louis Doddington Tait born 29 August 1871, Portadown, Armagh. Died, age 6, in 1877, Lurgan.
Henry Luke Stevenson Tait born 15 November 1873, Armagh. Died, age 4, in 1877, Lurgan
Adolphus Tait born 9 May 1875, Armagh. Died under one year old in 1875, Lurgan, Armagh
Marion Tait (ms McCreath) died age 35 in 1875. She had ben married for only 15 years.
