The Ritz Cafe was opened by Luigi Coia in 1910. He and his wife, Maria, had travelled to Cumbrae from the Monte Cassino area, via London and Glasgow.
The business remained in the family for four generations until 2014, when it was sold as a going concern by Luigi Giorgetti (Luigi’s grandson) and his wife Angela.
To date the names of the new owners have not yet been found.
