Gerardo Porrelli opened an ice cream parlour in Lacy Street, Paisley in 1925. He immigrated to Scotland from San Biagio Saracinisco, (Frosinone).

Today the business is in the hands of his grandson, Enzo Durante, the current Managing Director. He is supported by his wife, Ines and daughter Serena Although a lot has changed in 90 years, it still continues to use the same secret recipe handed down by Gerardo.

Gerardo’s daughter, Gina, married Alessandro Durante and continued the family tradition. The business expanded from its cafe base to become a supplier to cafes and outlets throughout the Paisley area. There were also ice cream vans and carts.

Porrelli’s has been winning  industry awards for a number of years.https://www.porrelli.com/about/
