The Esplanade Cafe was nominated for a place in the annual Scottish Italian Awards 2016 as ‘Best Gelateria’.

It is owned by Marco and Tania Medinelli. They employ 13 staff.

Marco and his son, Massimo, make all of their own ice cream, with original vanilla as their speciality and best seller, and many other flavours created on top of it, including puff candy, tablet and choc chip with raspberry.

The milk comes straight from a farm in Bridge of Weir. The Esplanade Cafe has been in Campbell Street for 70 years.
