When Robert McCreath and Barbara Jamieson and their family were in Campbeltown, their second son, John, met Margaret Forrester.

They had a child, also Margaret (Maggie) born on 2 January 1861.  Sadly, Margaret died on 25 January 1861 at Bolgam Street, Campbeltown.  The cause of death was not certified, though it is more than likely it was from birth-related complications.

Daughter Margaret’s death certificate unequivocally records her parents as John McCreath (Mason) and Margaret Forrester.  She was brought up by Robert and Barbara McCreath.

Maggie  married William Wilson Young at Hutchesontown on 21 November 1894, He was a Grocer’s Assistant. They had one known child, Peggy McCreath.

John McCreath later married Mary Robertson – on 21 September 1868 at Tradeston, Glasgow.

They had five children:

Ann McCreath born 24 Sep 1868. Died 12 March 1869.

James McCreath born 9 Jun 1870. 13 Sep 1870.

William McCreath born 26 Apr 1876
