Barbara Balharry married (i) George Ian Washington (ii) Harold Hudson

Barbara Balharry married George Ian Washington (1912-1943). They had a daughter, Barbara Washington, born 12 August 1939.

Sadly, Sergeant George Washington (178300V) died in WW2.  He was in the South African Instructional Corp and is remembered at the Johannesberg (West Park) Cremation Memorial. 

Later, Barbara Balharry married Harold Hudson.  They did not have a family.

Barbara lived for 42 years in Margate, a seaside resort town on the KwaZulu-Natal coast. Latterly she moved to Pretoria to live in a specially built ‘granny-flat’ with her daughter and family.

I will always be indebted to Barbara for her help in identifying members of her branch and for our regular interesting correspondence, which continued till her death.
