William McCreath, the youngest recorded child of John McCreath and Isobel Cunningham married Jean Kirkland in 1787 at Sorn. Their firstborn, James, was christened at Sorn in 1788. Other offspring – Mary, Jean, William and Margaret- were born in Glasgow. Later the family lived at Shettleston in the east of the city Around 1838 they moved to Summerlee Cottages, Coatbridge.
The only child known to have had issue is William McCreath (1797-1876). William is described in the 1841 census as a ‘Mineral Manager’.
