David McCreath married Jane Kirkwood Campbell on 21 July 1886 at Waterloo Villa, Ayr. He was a Grain Merchant. David and Jane had four children:

Margaret Crichton McCreath born c. 1892. Married William Glassford Walker
David McCreath born c. 1895. Killed in action on the Somme, 1916.
