Robert McCreath (1919 – 2011) married Nancy (surname unknown) (??-??)

Robert McCreath was born on 7 March 1919. He married Nancy (surname unknown).

Robert (Bert) McCreath worked as radio operator and communications specialist in the navy during the Second World War. He took part in the Battle of the Atlantic, hunting U-boats and kept shipping lanes open.

After the War, Robert and his wife Nancy moved their family from Calgary to Saskatoon, where they raised three children:

• Murdine McCreath

• Scott McCreath

• Nancy McCreath.

For 30 years, Robert was the manager of Saskatoon’s Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, where he installed the windows in many city landmarks including the Mendel Art Gallery, the University of Saskatchewan Hospital, the Arts Building and the stained glass windows in Saskatoon’s finest churches and cathedrals, including St. Joseph’s and St. Paul’s. He also took up the social cause through his involvement in the Saskatoon Art Council (now the Mendel Art Gallery), Kinsmen and Rotary.

His three children – Murdine, Scott and Nancy – all graduated from the University of Saskatchewan.  The next generation of six grandchildren are now spread across North America.
