Robert McCreath was born on 16 December 1883 at Camlachie, the fourth of the eight children of Thomas Thom McCreath (1852-1910) and Jane Reid.
He emigrated to Canada in 1911 aboard the Ionian with his sisters, Catherine Reid McCreath (born 20 September 1885) and Margaret Mccreath (born 1 October 1891)
In 1916 Robert, a Printer, is listed as the Head of Household at 105, 65. 97th Street, Edmonton East, Alberta.
