James McCreath was born on 18 February 1882. He married Marion Robb Strang on 23 April 1903 at Dennistoun, Glasgow.
James and Marion had four sons:
• John Renfrew McCreath born 17 September 1905, Bridgeton, Glasgow.
• Thomas Reid McCreath born 18 September 1909. Married Marie Thomson.
• James McCreath born 17 March 1911, Calton, Glasgow.
• Robert McCreath born 10 October 1912

John Renfrew McCreath married (i) Mary Agnes McDermid. They had a son, Duncan Malcolm McCreath born 1933. John remarried – to Mary Whiteford Spence (b. 1908). John and Mary had a son, John Renfrew Spence McCreath (b. 1942).
John married Renee Evelyn Ackerman on 3 September 1966 at Coatbridge.

Robert McCreath married Christine Reid Stevenson. No known issue. He remarried – to Lizzie O’Hara. Robert and lizzie had two sons – Robert Strang McCreath (b. 1947) and Thomas McCreath (b.1950).
Robert Strang McCreath married Agnes Mary McSorley.
