Samuel Merton McCreath was born on 23 August 1924.
Samuel changed the spelling of his name to MacCreath.
He married Margaret Gayter (born 19 September 1931) on 26 July 1958 at Bishops Castle, Shropshire. Samuel and Margaret had two Children:
• Sandra Margaret MacCreath born 22 November 1960 at Ormskirk Hospital. Sandra married Richard Clive Corfield on 16 October. They had two children: Sarah Margaret Corfield (born 14 February 1991, Shrewsbury); John Richard Corfield (born Welshpool, Powys).
• Nigel Merton MacCreath born 30 December 1963 at Bishops Castle. Nigel married Sara Jane Williams on 29 July 1995 at Homer, Much Wedlock, Shrops. Nigel and Sara Jane had two sons: Thomas Oliver MacCreath born 3 June 1997; and George Samuel MacCreath born 8 April 1999.
