The Central cafe was run by the Marioni family.

Alberto Marioni was born in North Tuscany in 1913.  His parents arrived in Fraserburgh in 1921 with Albert and his elder brother, Guido.  Three more sons were born in Fraserburgh – Peter Charlie and Louie.

Alberto attended Fraserburgh North School, and later served as a British soldier in World War II. During his service, Alberto was deployed to North Africa and Italy.

After the War, Alberto ran the Central Cafe in Fraserburgh with one of his his brothesr.
